Truston boosts its IT infrastructure thanks to support from BRYXX

Truston is an IT service provider that, among other things, manages Oracle systems for customers from various sectors. Their main focus is the management of Oracle Health Insurance applications for Dutch health insurers.

Each health insurer has his own customer silo with testing and production environments. Truston managed all these environments manually and parallel to each other. This was an intensive process, because each action had to be performed separately on each environment so that the environments remained identical. This involved a high risk of errors. So, Truston started looking for a way to roll out all environments in a standardized way.

“We had already taken steps towards automation ourselves, but we were looking for support from a partner that has more experience with this and has knowledge of Oracle technologies. That’s how we got in contact with BRYXX. They are the only company that has extensive knowledge of both.”, says David Breekpot, General Manager at Truston.

Efficiency through automation

Truston built an automation platform with Terraform and Puppet. “Now we can set up a new environment with the touch of a button. On top of that, the customer silos are now 90% the same, making the environments more standardized and the risk of errors considerably lower.”, says Wim Korevaar, Technical Management Consultant at Truston. “After implementing Puppet, we wanted to manage the system ourselves, but we felt the need for additional support from someone with experience. That is when BRYXX came into the picture.”

“Thanks to their extensive experience, they were able to advise us on which tools were useful to us and when we could best use them. Among other things, they also helped roll out our IaC tooling (Puppet, Jenkins, Nexus, HashiCorp Vault…) in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. In addition, BRYXX also provided the necessary health checks for this tooling. Where necessary, they also carried out updates so that everything continued to run smoothly.”, Wim explains.

Previously, Truston managed all its environments on-prem. In the meantime, they have switched to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. They manage and automate their infrastructure themselves, but can always fall back on BRYXX’s expertise where necessary. “Their support actually went much broader than our initial question. BRYXX really thinks along with the entire process and our business. They look beyond the task for which they were hired and always search for the best solutions to our problems. They do this with a sense of responsibility, as if they are truly part of our company. You notice that they want our business to grow and that they are constantly looking for ways to further optimize our operations.”, David continues.

Support on all levels

“One of the most important parts of this process was the knowledge transfer. In the beginning, BRYXX was our first line of support. They have gradually transferred more and more knowledge to us, for example through trainings they provided for our internal team. Gradually we acquired more knowledge and were able to deal with basic problems ourselves. For the more difficult issues, we can of course still count on BRYXX, but it’s more of a third-line support now. They have really focused on expanding our knowledge and growing our company.”, confirms Wim.

With the newly acquired knowledge, Truston’s IT team took itself to the next level. But even after that, BRYXX remained available to Truston. On the one hand, through consultants who participate in their IT team, and on the other hand, they provide managed services to keep tooling up to date. “It’s nice to know that we can always count on BRYXX. Communication is always smooth and pleasant. There is always someone available for us. We also have a moment every week where we spar together with BRYXX. This really offers added value for us.”, concludes David.
