Customer Case – Oleon

Oleon is a specialist in natural chemistry. They convert natural fats and oils into a wide variety of products such as biodiesel, glycerine, esters… Oleon is the leading producer of oleochemicals made from renewable raw materials.

Oleon has 5 different plants, 2 of which are in Belgium. The machines in these factories are constantly collecting data. This data is included in a Manifacturing Execution System (MES). The data is then processed and stored in an Oracle database and displayed to the end users via an Oracle Forms application.

It became clear in 2013 that the system needed an update. Moreover, Oleon lacked the necessary knowledge of Oracle to optimally maintain the Oracle platform. BRYXX was then brought in to optimize and manage the infrastructure. BRYXX performed the necessary health checks and put back-up systems in place.

In addition to updating the existing infrastructure, there was also a need for 24/7 support. After all, Oleon’s production processes also run outside standard office hours. Being able to rely on a partner 24/7 was therefore of great importance for Oleon’s business continuity. BRYXX offers this support so that Oleon’s processes can always run optimally.

Over the years, BRYXX has evolved the Oleon platform with regular patches & upgrades to the most recent versions of the Oracle software. Recently, the platform was migrated to a new hardware set-up where BRYXX also assisted in the migration of the Oracle platform. That way, BRYXX can guarantee continuity and security.
