Internship: Private AI Service for an AIOps and Managed Services Setup
Assignment Description:
Welcome to your internship assignment! During your internship, you will work on a challenging and innovative project: designing and developing a private AI service for an AIOps setup.
What is AIOps?
AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) is a new approach to IT management, where AI technologies like machine learning and data analysis are used to optimize and automate IT operations. The goal of AIOps is to resolve IT issues faster, prevent outages proactively, and improve overall management of IT systems. Another important aspect is simplifying knowledge sharing. How can engineers learn from each other using AI tools?
Your Assignment:
Your task is to design a private AI service solution specifically tailored for an AIOps and managed services context. This means that you will design a service that offers local AI capabilities without relying on public cloud services.
Your design should consider the following aspects:
- Hardware Specifications: Determine suitable components, such as CPU, GPU, storage, and network requirements needed for AI workloads. Alternatively, consider cloud-based setups.
- Software Stack:
- a) Choose and configure a software stack suitable for AIOps. This includes:
- AI Tools and Frameworks: Use tools like Ollama for easier implementation and management of AI models.
- LLM Suggestions: Start with open-source LLMs like GPT-3, GPT-4, LLaMA, MPT, or other models that can be privately hosted. Research which models are best suited for your specific use case and requirements.
- Specialization for AIOps: Use tools like Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch Lightning, or LangChain to further specialize the LLM for AIOps-related tasks. Consider training models with domain-specific datasets, such as IT system logs, network data, and security incidents.
- Web Interface: Consider using an open-source web interface like Open-WebUI to provide user-friendly access to the AI models. This can be used to experiment with and demonstrate the model’s capabilities and offer end-user interaction with the system. Or integrate with other existing tools within the organization (e.g., Slack).
- a) Choose and configure a software stack suitable for AIOps. This includes:
- Security and Privacy: Design the service with a strong focus on security and privacy to comply with data protection regulations (such as GDPR and ISO27001).
- Integration and Scalability: Determine how the AI service can seamlessly integrate with existing IT infrastructures and how it can scale to accommodate growth in workloads.
End Result:
Develop a Proof of Concept to demonstrate the functionality of your AI service in an AIOps setup. This could be a simulation or a small implementation to test the capabilities of your design.
At the end of your internship, you will have:
- A detailed design document for a private AI service.
- A Proof of Concept showcasing the functionality of your design.
- Skills developed in both AI technologies and IT operations.
Expectations and Guidance:
You will work closely with our IT team and receive guidance from experienced professionals in both AI and IT operations. We expect you to conduct research, come up with creative solutions, and regularly present your findings. The final result will be a detailed design document and a working Proof of Concept that demonstrates how your private AI service can contribute to an efficient AIOps setup.

Internship: Develop an Automated Platform for Managed Services
Are you an IT student with an interest in automation, scripting, and building smart solutions? Then this internship assignment is perfect for you!
During this internship, you will work on setting up a system tool for managed services, automating common tasks and setups via platforms like Rundeck (frontend). The goal is to develop a platform that allows managed service engineers to perform common tasks with just one click, such as deploying new environments or monitoring systems.
What you will do:
- Together with the team, you will design a platform that ensures an automated workflow for MS tasks.
- You will integrate the platform with existing tools like Slack and Zabbix to optimize communication and monitoring.

What your job looks like
As a System Engineer you work closely with our customers as a technical advisor and architect. As a member of our cloud team you will be introduced to Oracle Cloud visit , Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
You configure IAAS and PAAS platforms in the cloud and provide them with advanced cloud provisioning tools. Installing, configuring and managing our middleware and database portfolio in the cloud is also one of your tasks. In addition, you consider the scalability and elasticity within the various cloud solutions. You also set up highly available (24/7) environments for our various customers. Finally, you monitor different cloud platforms and integrate services into our BRYXX cloud monitoring framework.
What we request of you
- You have experience with Oracle and/or open-source technology and want to know how to bring this to the cloud
- You love being a database-, middleware- or system administrator and want to extend this knowledge to the cloud
- Knowledge of Weblogic, Jboss, Glassfish and/or Tomcat application servers is a must
- You are a cloud enthusiast with knowledge of several cloud providers
- Experience with Oracle development tools, Java & JEE, networking, perl/python/shell scripting, Puppet and Nagios are a plus
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, French is a bonus

What your job looks like
As a Database Engineer you install and configure databases of our customers. These are both simple setups and highly available platforms. You prepare and execute the migrations and/or updates of the existing databases. You are also responsible for performance, tuning and daily maintenance. Guiding customers through their platform design and migrations is also one of your responsibilities. As a member of the BRYXX DBA team, you run the automation through the DevOps toolset from Puppet, Jenkins, etc.
What we request of you
- You have experience in Open-Source databases such as PostgreSQL and have a good knowledge of Linux and Windows. Unix is a plus.
- You have experience with other enterprise-level databases such as Oracle and/or SQLServer.
- You eat performance tuning for breakfast and like to see disaster recovery as your lunch appointment.
- Knowledge of low-level virtualization (VMWare, Oracle Linux VM, OVM,…) is a plus.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft AZURE and/or Oracle Cloud is highly appreciated. Knowledge of Middleware, with application servers such as Weblogic, Jboss, Tomcat,… is a bonus.
- You speak Dutch and English. French is a plus.
