How you explain to your friends what you do do

I am building a career in IT company near Antwerp, where I make sure that all the applications built by developers are quickly and safely displayed to the end user. For instance, I take care that all the information coming from underlying databases appear beautifully on your computer screen when you open a website.

What you really do

As Middleware administrator you advise our clients on the optimal use of their middleware product stack. You prepare and conduct the installations and configure the middleware systems for future management. As a member of our middleware team you will get familiar with the Oracle Fusion Middleware stack and configure application server components. You install, configure and manage the Oracle Database and MySQL. Setting up high available environments, running 24/7, with disaster recovery scenarios and strong backup policies is also one of your tasks. On top of that, you monitor and tune complex middleware environments, testing your environment to the limit. You integrate security features enterprise-wide.

What we ask of you

  • You show experience in Oracle technology and want to know more about the architecture behind the scenes
  • You are an Oracle database administrator or system administrator and want to broaden your knowledge range to the middleware world
  • Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Application Server, Jboss, Glassfish and/or Tomcat application servers are no-brainers for you
  • Knowledge of Oracle development tools. Java & J2EE, networking, perl/python/shell scripting are a plus
  • Your Dutch and English are fluent, speaking French is a plus.

How you tackle this

We see in you an independent hard worker who understands technical as well as business concepts. You are willing to grow and carry responsibility. That is why you show initiative and think along. Good communication skills are crucial and you are not afraid to give feedback. And above all, you have a good sense of humor, because we like a good laugh!

 We offer you

  • a no-nonsense work environment with the necessary space for personal improvement and initiative
  • not only new colleagues, but also new friends
  • of course, a competitive salary
  • plus a company car with fuel card, laptop and phone contract
  • and lots of reductions on fun events

Installing, configuring and managing our middleware and database portfolio the-cloud-way, taking into account scalability and elasticity, is also one of your tasks. You set up a highly available environment, running 24/7, and you gain extensive knowledge on cloud security matters.
